  • Articulating and developing your theory of change
  • Designing bespoke strategic development processes
  • Strategy implementation
  • Business and operational planning
  • Business model review and development
  • Planning for change
  • Programme reviews and evaluation
  • Impact measurement and reporting

With many years’ experience of Chair/Vice Chair/Trustee/Non-Executive Director/Risk Committee roles, I can also offer support to you on how to work effectively and harmoniously with your board.

When I work with you, I make your purpose my purpose.

Examples of my work with chief executives include:

  • ACEVO [Association of Chief Executives of Voluntary Organisations]: support for CEO with design of strategy process and facilitated member and board engagement in this.

I have also acted as an ongoing Critical Friend on behalf of the Paul Hamlyn Foundation for:

“Jean worked with me, the board, staff team and members to develop ACEVO’s next three year strategy. Alongside facilitating workshops and meetings to get the most out of the participants, Jean offered a useful external perspective and helpful structure for the process. She was also very flexible in allowing for the vagaries of working in a pandemic!”

    Vicky Browning, CEO, ACEVO 2021

“It has been a privilege to work with Jean in three of my roles.  Firstly, when I was the director of marketing at Nam, Jean was a trustee and I learnt considerable amounts about fundraising, budgeting and presentation of cases for support that supported Nam to dramatically increase its income.

Secondly, when I was CEO for Leap Confronting Conflict, Jean competed to become a ‘critical friend’ for the leadership team, which was funded by Paul Hamlyn Foundation.  The impact of her work, bringing as she did team development, strategic planning and insight, impact assessment and more was very significant.  Not only did the performance of the organisation improve, along with that of the team, but she earnt trust across the wider team because of her excellent facilitation.

Finally, in April 2020 Jean helped the leadership team at Turn2us, consider the emerging impact of Covid-19 and its associated lockdown on people facing financial hardship.  She digested significant amounts of reports and data to help the team realise how it needed to prioritise so that the organisation could achieve the best possible impact for people impacted by the stalling of the economy.

If you want an insightful, deeply experienced, deft-handed facilitator and strategist, it is harder to find better than Jean.”

    Thomas Lawson, CEO Turn2us 2020

“Jean helped our organisation to learn together as we benefited from her positive and committed work with us. Jean quickly creates a collaboration with listening at its heart and it was such a pleasure to develop our theory of change and evaluation framework with her guidance.”

Anna Pincus, Director, GDWG/Refugee Tales 2020
