Trustee experience:

2016-current: Trustee/Company Secretary, Mental Disability Advocacy Centre UK linked to Validity Foundation based in Budapest  

2005- 2008:   Chair/trustee, Charities Evaluation Services (now part of NCVO)  I completed a successful 3 year term as Chair, during which time CES led development of performance support for the UK third sector through the Performance Hub, launched a new edition of PQASSO, a new quality accreditation scheme for the charity sector (now evolved into “Trusted Charity Mark”), more than doubled in size and won the Charity Award for Effectiveness. I was a trustee for the maximum term of 6 years, also in roles as Vice Chair, Treasurer and first Chair of a newly established Risk Audit Committee.

 1996 – 2006    Vice Chair/trustee, NAM/aidsmap   Roles also included first Chair of a newly established Risk Audit Committee.

1988 – 1994  Trustee, Confederation of Tape Information Services 

NHS board level experience:

2013-2015 Chair, Patient and Public Reference Group, Coastal West Sussex Clinical Commissioning Group overseeing design and involvement of stakeholder consultations.

 2013-2015 Lay Member on Governing Body of Coastal West Sussex Clinical Commissioning Group, Vice Chair of Audit and Assurance Committee, member of Quality Committee and Remuneration Committee.

 2012-2013 Non-Executive Director, Coastal West Sussex Clinical Commissioning Group (in shadow form during transition period of NHS restructuring). Budget approx. £600m.  

2006-2012 Non-Executive Director, West Sussex Primary Care Trust: member of board, Audit and Assurance Committee plus Finance and Performance Committee of this £1.2 billion organisation.
